One of the most appreciated and certainly the most fascinating fish that can be kept in the aquarium is the freshwater stingray.
Most of the freshwater stingrays are native to South America (Amazon River and its tributaries) but there is also a typically Asian genus that is not very well known: the genus Hymantura, represented mainly by two species: uarnak and chaopraya.
These two species do not can rightly be marketed for reasons both of environmental protection and for the considerable size they reach.
As for the South American freshwater stingrays, they are largely farmed in Thailand, in fact Thailand is one of the main countries in the world that is able to offer almost all species of freshwater stingrays for export.
Maipenrai Aquarium is able to offer a wide selection of freshwater stingrays which can be chosen directly in our farm by video upon request.
It is also possible to choose and purchase pairs.
Obviously, each specimen has all the health certificates and CITES documentation (remember that all the fish belonging to the Potamotrygonydae family are in Appendix III source C in the Washington convention).
Below, a list of species and varieties that you can find in our list dedicated to freshwater fish.
